Flaming Gorge Lake offers excellent fishing within a beautiful setting. Lake Trout are the big prize, but Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Smallmouth Bass are the foucs of many fishermen.
All the details you need to know can be found below.
Fishing License:
Although the Flaming Gorge Reservoir is in Utah and Wyoming, for your trip you will be fishing in Utah only. Each adult (12 and older) will be required to have a Utah Fishing license. These are available online at https://wildlife.utah.gov/licenses/licenses-permits.html or in our Fly Shop when you get here.
Parking Pass:
You will most likely meet your guide at one of the boat ramps. There is no entrance fee to Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. However, a Recreation Use pass is required at all major boat launches and at the Little Hole National Recreation Trail below the Flaming Gorge Dam. Permits can be purchased at kaisos at the parking areas or we also have them available for purchase in our Fly Shop. Permit fees are: 1 day = $5, 7 day = $15, or Annual = $35.
Where to meet your Guide:
Our guides like to have the boat and everything ready for you. They will contact you before your trip and let you know the perfect time and place to meet so you can begin your adventure!
What to Expect:
We believe there is no other place on earth as beautiful as the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. The “Flaming” red rocks, steep cliffs, canyons, evergreen forests and wildlife surround the 91 miles of lake shore of Flaming Gorge.
If you are here for a scenery trip, you will not be disappointed. If you are here to fish you can expect to catch Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon, possibly a trophy Mackinaw, or you may even snag a Small Mouth Bass or Burbot. Though all fish are seasonal by nature – there is amazing trout fishing year round.
Our skilled and experienced guides are sure to create an unforgettable experience. They supply all the necessary fishing and safety equipment. Whether you like fly fish, troll, or cast fishing, our guides cater to all experience levels from beginners to the most experienced of fisherman.
