Camping & Area Info

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area including the section of the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam is administered by the Ashley National Forest.  In order to maintain and improve recreational facilities for this area, visitors who use most National Recreational Areas (NRA) are required to have a recreation use pass.

Passes must be displayed in the primary mode of transportation, or kept on your person if you are entering the recreation area on foot, horseback, or bicycle.  Visitors who do not stop or the main through highways, or who stop at recreation area stores or restaurants do not need a pass.  Also note that if you stop at the Flaming Gorge Dam Visitor's center you do not need a pass.

The pass program has been authorized by Congress and over 80% of all fees collected remain here at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area.

1-day pass:     $5

3-day pass:     $15

Annual passs:     $35

These passes are available at our Fly Shop.
